Show Me The Money! The Details of Local Pay Disclosure Laws for Private Employers

When:  Oct 13, 2022 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)
Following up on our September 2022 DE Masterclass Roundtable, DirectEmployers is now offering a two-part Webinar series to dive more deeply into the details, first of “Pay Disclosure” laws and then of “Pay Transparency” laws.

Part I of this DE webinar series will review the details of the almost 15 local and state “Pay Disclosure” laws requiring corporate disclosure of salary and wage rates to applicants and/or employees. Jay Wang of Fox, Wang & Morgan P.C. will discuss the legal obligations employers will face when publicly providing statutorily required wage rates or ranges. Candee will offer some practical Human Resources tips to deal with the loss of confidentiality of employee pay information, including as to corporate trade secret concerns and as to confidential job searches.

This 90-minute webinar will dive into the 5 W’s of each law, from the scope of applicability to when during the application process an employer must provide compensation information. This will include discussion of the new salary disclosure requirements signed into law in California by Governor Newsom on September 27th. We will also discuss the wage rate requirements that may soon be coming to employers in New York. This is an opportunity for attendees to know and understand the intricacies needed to comply with the various disclosure laws now in place across the country. We will conclude by discussing the changes HR must make among its recruiting, compliance, and employee relations teams, and take questions from attendees.
