APSE Conversation with Natalie Miller

When:  Oct 15, 2020 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)
Join APSE for a conversation led by Natalie Miller, of Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indiana.

While working at the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indianapolis, Natalie Miller noticed there was considerable misunderstanding between job seekers with disabilities and prospective employers that impeded with the success of disability employment efforts. In hopes of increasing communication and improving hiring results, she aims to bridge the gap with knowledge acquired from her experiences while providing practical advice so that change can begin today.

Natalie Miller is a lifelong resident of central Indiana and was diagnosed with autism at age four. She gave her first disability lecture to the faculty/staff at Whiteland Community HS in April 2009 and has been doing disability activist work in some capacity ever since. Having earned a BA from Franklin College in 2014 and Paralegal Studies Certificate from IUPUI in 2016, she currently works at the Marion County Prosecutor's Office as a paralegal in criminal court 15 and is co-founder of MCPO's DifferentNotLess Initiative. More recently, she attended the 2019 APSE National Conference in St. Louis and presented at the 2019 IN-APSE Conference in Indianapolis. She hopes to use her experiences to help others with disabilities tap into their potential and live fruitful, productive lives in their communities. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, spending time with loved ones and simply living life to the fullest.
