A Call to Duty: The Business Case for Hiring Veterans

When:  Jan 27, 2021 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)
Join Michael Poyma (U.S. Army 90-93), National Employment Coordinator, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as he utilizes a mix of personal and professional experience, as an Army soldier and as an employment professional, to guide attendees through the various nuances of the largest obstacle to veterans’ employment: the military – civilian cultural gap. Additionally, attendees will leave with takeaways, resources and professional contacts for the future. The objectives are:

1) to inform the audience about what the military – civilian cultural gap is in broad terms, and the impact of this divide on veterans’ abilities to obtain suitable employment after military service

2) to inform and motivate the audience about actions they can take to bridge the military –civilian cultural gap

3) to empower the audience with resources and opportunities to expand their network, all to help our veterans gain improved employment outcomes.
