Either as an employer or an employee, you’ve likely filled out Form I-9 during the onboarding process. Used to verify the identity and employment authorization of all individuals hired for employment in the U.S., it is essential that this form is completed and retained properly in the event it is requested for inspection by authorized government officers. Much to the dismay of employers, the form regularly undergoes revisions making it challenging to keep up with the most current requirements.
