Recruiting has always been under pressure. Layoffs, hiring freezes, impossible req loads, and now AI knocking on the door. It’s enough to make even seasoned recruiters wonder if the game has passed them by.
In this talk, Brian Fink tackles how recruiters not only stay relevant but also optimistic when the weight of the world (and hiring managers) is pressing down. When no one else sees market volatility, shifting candidate expectations, and automation fear, you still come out dancing on the other side. The secret isn’t superpowers.
It’s staying curious, staying human, and staying strategic. Your survival kit:
- A curiosity habit (read one new trend daily).
- A relevance check (ask: am I adding strategy or just processing résumés?).
- An optimism anchor (log a win each day, no matter how small).
The Modern Recruiter embraces pressure as a crucible for transformation, not extinction.
Recruiting under pressure isn’t a bug. It’s a feature. The winners are those who adapt, stay sharp, and keep their hope alive. Relevance keeps you in the game. Optimism makes you dangerous in the best way. Let's rock.
