Creating an Online Career Search Experience that Reduces Obstacles, Attracts, and Engages Individuals with Disabilities.

Like everyone, people with disabilities should be able to enjoy their online experience without encountering digital hurdles. In the United States alone, there are over 56 million people with disabilities, and according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 18.7 percent of those individuals are employed. This leaves a disproportionate amount of people unemployed and what’s more, these sought-after applicants often encounter inaccessible websites or alternative online methods of accommodation that force them to divulge their disability before the apply process even begins.

If people with disabilities are unable to use your website, they will quickly turn to the website of a competitor that offers an accessible experience. Let Recruit Rooster Key Account Executive, Ruth Toombs, walk you through why web accessibility is essential, what an accessible website is, and how to craft an online experience that is compliant, as well as WCAG 2.1 proficient, with these candidates in mind.
