As someone who lost most of his sight during college, Joe Stretchay knows the struggles of representation all too well. With a lifelong passion for film and television, he began to notice how underrepresented communities – people of color, LGBTQ+, and individuals with disabilities – were portrayed on-screen. Often, represented as being disadvantaged or as those with extraordinary power and authority, he recognized the detrimental effect this had on individuals in the real world. His interest would later lead him to a career consulting with international media companies on shows such as Marvel's Daredevil, Netflix's The OA, All the Light We Cannot See, and as Co-Executive Producer of Apple+'s SEE season three. Learn about his life experiences and how in his role, he hopes that portraying these individuals more accurately will help improve diversity and inclusion in the workforce, allowing employers to better serve the needs of any and all underrepresented populations.
